Interested citizens and business owners can pick up an application at Cocoa City Hall, apply online through our electronic application, or contact Samantha Senger at ssenger@cocoafl.org to be sent an application. Applications must be mailed to City Hall (65 Stone St., Cocoa, FL 32922, Attn: Samantha Senger) or e-mailed to ssenger@cocoafl.org unless submitting online though the electronic application which will automatically be submitted to the City of Cocoa.

The Cocoa Citizen’s Academy is an 10-week program designed to inform residents and community stakeholders about the operations of city government and what is involved in delivering and maintaining services to the citizens of Cocoa. Each session will be about 2 hours long and will be an in-depth look in to the services each department provides to the residents and business owners of this community.
You must be a resident or business owner in the City limits of Cocoa and 18 years of age or older to participate in the program.
Class size for the program will be limited to the first 15 participants that apply. Participants will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis for the program based on their residency eligibility.
At this point, the City of Cocoa is offering one Citizens Academy program each year. Future dates for more programs will be posted on the City's website and social media pages.
The City of Cocoa Citizens Academy is a 10-week program designed to inform residents and community stakeholders about the operations of city government and what is involved in delivering and maintaining services to the citizens of Cocoa. The program is designed for residents and Cocoa business owners that are 18 years and older who are interested in learning more about their local government and how they can get involved in their community. Class size is limited to the first fifteen (15) Cocoa residents or business owners that apply. At the end of the program, participants should have an increased understanding of the organizational structure and operations of the various departments that impact the quality of life in the City of Cocoa. Graduates of the Citizens Academy will be prepared to have a role in the future of their neighborhoods and the City overall through government/citizen engagement. Graduates are encouraged to participate in their local government by joining one of the many boards and committees the City has established to help make decisions regarding your local government. Each participant will be encouraged to apply for a board or committee once they have completed the program.
