Detectives Arrest Suspect Following Overnight Shooting
 
(Cocoa, FL)—A 24-year-old man is in jail facing attempted murder and other felony crimes following a shooting that occurred in the downtown area. At approximately 1:59 AM Saturday, officers responded to the area of 17 Oleander St. after reports of a shooting.  The investigation revealed there was a large physical fight that began inside Marino’s restaurant/bar involving several people.  Witnesses reported seeing a male, later identified as Bryson L. Jones, shooting (DOB  01/10/1997) approximately 30 rounds into the parking lot. Several rounds struck a 24-year-old male victim who was taken to the hospital. The male victim is expected to recover.  The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, ignoring officers commands to stop.  The suspect was later located in the City of Rockledge. After a brief foot pursuit with Rockledge officers, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The investigation is ongoing.  The suspect was taken to the Brevard County jail without bond and is facing charges of attempted second degree murder,
attempted felony murder, shoot/throw deadly missile into dwellings, public/private business, and/or vehicles, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, discharging firearm in public, and resisting an officer. The investigation is ongoing.
