(Cocoa, FL)—The City of Cocoa’s 35th annual toy drive is underway and families in need of assistance may continue to sign up at Cocoa City Hall Office of the City Clerk between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday- Friday (except holidays). The last day to sign up will be November 19th.
Families requesting assistance must live in the City of Cocoa city limits. Applicants will be required to produce a valid driver’s license or Florida ID card with a correct address and a utility bill which matches the name and address. A birth certificate and social security card for each child will be required along with documents showing the applicant is the parent or guardian.  Applicants can only be on one list.
Donations of new and unwrapped toys are also being collected to support the needs of local families. Donations can be dropped off at any City of Cocoa facility including Fire Station 1, 1740 Dixon Blvd., Fire Station 2, 300 Brunson Blvd., Fire Station 3, 3505 SR 524, Cocoa City Hall, 65 Stone St., the Cocoa Police Department, 1226 W. King St., and the Utilities Administration Building, 351 Shearer Blvd.  Toy donations should be for children ages 14 and under and will be accepted through December 15th. “Community first is our mission and this toy drive is a great opportunity for our officers to demonstrate our commitment to our community,” said Chief Evander Collier IV.

The Cocoa Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency since 2006 through the Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation. The Police Department is at 1226 W. King St., Cocoa, FL 32922.
