Monday, June 7, 2021 11:39 AM Chief to Walk Local Neighborhood in First of Series of Community Conversations(Cocoa, FL)—Chief Evander Collier IV will host his first Community Walk on Wednesday, June 9
th at 6 p.m. in a portion of the Virginia Park neighborhood. Chief Collier will be joined by members of the police department command staff and members of city leadership along with elected representatives. The walk will begin at the Zion Orthodox Primitive Baptist Church at the corner of Fiske Blvd. and Counts St., head west on Counts to South Carolina Avenue south to Rosa L. Jones Dr. back to the church. Along the route, the chief and members of command staff will be knocking on doors, talking with neighbors, answering questions, sharing ideas and/or concerns and connecting with the community.
Immediately following the walk, there will be a community meeting where neighbors can gather to hear about police activity in the area, code enforcement responses, and other relevant information about the police department and the services provided. The residents in Virginia Park and surrounding neighborhoods are welcome to walk and attend the community meeting.
