Morey’s Salon & Barber

November 1, 2015 - Your teacher always told you to never judge a book by its cover; Morey’s Salon & Barber is no exception. What looks like a simple hair salon from the outside is home to a bright and inviting atmosphere that is one-of-a-kind.

Victoria Morey has a resume to be proud of; she’s been a stylist for 30 years, owned a salon for almost 16 and just celebrated the business’s third successful year in the city of Cocoa. Eight years ago, Victoria was joined by her husband Dennis who brought retro barbering to the business just as pompadour haircuts and handlebar mustaches were making their way back in vogue. Since the pair joined forces, the business has expanded into new areas and perfected existing services. For example, Dennis offers a hot towel straight razor shave typically reserved for movies of the 1950s and Victoria is a Dream Catchers hair extensions specialist and master colorist with experience in all colors of the rainbow.

The Morey’s chose the city of Cocoa for their salon and barbershop because of the City’s central location; easily accessible to clients coming from as far as Orlando, New Smyrna, Port St. Lucie, and even one client serving in the U.S. Army who flies to the U.S. from Afghanistan every three months and pays a special visit to Morey’s for salon services.

Expansion is on the horizon for Morey’s as they search for another barber to meet the increasing demand for services. Remodeling is also on the agenda, with plans to dedicate a larger portion of the 2,800 square foot building to the barbershop side of the business. This expansion will serve to benefit the business as a whole, as Morey’s dedicates their efforts to providing the top notch services at the request their valued customers.
