Suspects Sought in Burglary and Cambridge Elementary School
(Cocoa, FL)—Detectives are currently searching for multiple suspects wanted for a burglary and criminal mischief at Cambridge Elementary School, 2000 Cambridge Drive. Just after 6 a.m. Monday, patrol officers responded to the school after receiving a call from an employee reporting multiple classrooms had been ransacked. Further investigation revealed nearly every classroom had been broken into with property destroyed and multiple Ipads taken. A review of the surveillance video indicates the burglary occurred on Saturday afternoon by at least two adult suspects. The suspects forced entry into the building through the windows and stole keys to the classrooms. Detectives and crime scene technicians are currently processing the evidence and attempting to identify the suspects in the video. Cambridge Elementary School Burglary Suspect Arrested
(Cocoa, FL)—Two juvenile suspects are facing felony charges after their parents turned them in Monday afternoon for a burglary at Cambridge Elementary School, 2000 Cambridge Drive. The parents saw photos of the suspects on the news and surrendered the children, ages 14 and 16, for the crime that occurred on Saturday afternoon.
Early Monday patrol officers responded to the school after an employee called to report the burglary. Further investigation revealed most every classroom had been ransacked, property damaged and several iPads were taken. A review of the surveillance video revealed two suspects on campus Saturday afternoon. The images were immediately broadcast on local news stations and on social media. By mid-afternoon the parents of the suspects in the video were at the police department to surrender the teens.
The juveniles are charged with multiple felonies and are identified as Deshawn Kelly, (DOB 4-30-2003) and Caprellia Steward (DOB 11-27-00). Both are facing charges of burglary, grand theft (4 counts) and felony criminal mischief.
