ANNUAL BREAKFAST WITH THE CHIEF SEEKS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR POLICE NON-PROFIT
Chicken and waffles along with other traditional breakfast items will be served up at the annual Breakfast with the Chief fundraising event to be held on Friday April 7th at 7:30 a.m. at the Cocoa Civic Center, 430 Delannoy Ave. The event is a significant fundraiser for the police department’s non-profit, Cocoa Community First, a 501(c) (3) dedicated to funding the department’s youth and community outreach programs. Local business partners and philanthropists have a variety of sponsorship packages to choose from ranging from $250 to $5,000. “We have always had great participation from our business partners and local residents in support of this fundraising effort,” said Chief Mike Cantaloupe. “This is an investment in the future of our community and our non-profit puts all the money raised directly into youth programs and community outreach efforts.”
The featured chef for the event is the department’s own Cpl. Chris Bradshaw, who in addition to his law enforcement credentials is a 2000 graduate of the elite Culinary Institute of America in New York. Cpl. Bradshaw is an experienced chef with professional experience in New York City Restaurants. After joining the Cocoa Police Department to pursue a law enforcement career, he continues to use his culinary skills by volunteering to assist the culinary program at Cocoa High School. He also supports police department events such as the recent awards dinner, holiday events, and the annual Breakfast with the Chief.
