Building Permit Fees
On April 23, 2013, City Council adopted Resolution 2013-037, revising the building permit fee schedule. The change shall be effective on April 24, 2013. View the building fee schedule and the miscellaneous permit fee schedule or obtain a copy at:

Licenses required
The City of Cocoa vigorously enforces the construction contractor licensing statutes of the State of Florida and prosecutes violations to the fullest extent of the law.

Violations & Penalties

• Unlicensed Contracting First Violation: $500
• Violation After Previous Conviction:$1,000

The State may apply added penalties, including jail time.  An Owner-Builder is only exempt from the licensing requirement of Ch. 489 F.S., under very specific conditions, and Owner-Builders may not subcontract the work to unlicensed persons.
