Building construction plans review, permitting and inspection of any building or plan ensure compliance with the Florida Building & Fire Codes and local code requirements incidental to:

Licenses
The Local Business Tax Receipt Program licenses businesses throughout the City of Cocoa.
Building Permit Fees
On September 9, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 2008-94, which established a fee schedule for matters, tasks, and services pertaining to administration and enforcement of the Florida Building Code. The fee schedule established shall be adjusted annually by a factor equal to the change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) from July of the previous year to July of the effective year, unless a revised fee study is undertaken demonstrating the necessity for an increase in excess of the CPI-U. The change shall be effective on October 1 of each year beginning October 1, 2009.
