1. What are the benefits to annexing property into the City?

Annexation is a process outlined in Florida Statutes whereby residents and businesses located outside City limits decide to join and become part of the City. Cocoa residents receive a 10 percent water and sewer utility reduction. Elimination of water, sewer, and reclaimed water surcharges, as well as, the Fire Hydrant charge in most cases offsets the slight increase in property taxes.
